Commander Dave Dumonceaux

Sir Knights all:
I would first like to bring you greetings and salutations from our Right Eminent Grand Commander Sir Knight Ralph J. Luchsinger.
I sincerely hope that all had a joyous and happy holiday season. Several good things have been happening in our local Commandery, Palestine #14 and at the Grand Commandery. We are practicing our floor work for our inspection which will take place April 29, 2017. I believe that once we get the floor work down the rest should be relatively easy. We may also may be a part of a joint inspection with Commanderies to our east. More on that later. We are going to, as a part of our Past Masters / Awards night, have an awards presentation for the York Rite this year. This has not been done in several years and we need to honor those who have achieved milestones in our Rite. We should have a couple of candidates for this year so degree work and orders will be again conferred in Fergus Falls. There are several One Day events coming up:
@ One Day to Chapter – Feb 4th
@ One Day to Council – Feb 18th
@ One Day to Commandery – March 4th
At the Grand Commandery level, many good discussions are being had regarding membership and the decline thereof. The inspection process is in the process of being evaluated and possible revamped to accommodate the smaller Commanderies or Commanderies that have few than needed Sir Knights participating. We have a date
to work the Renaissance Festival again to continue to beef up the Holy Land Pilgrimage fund. It is a lot of fun and we raised $2800 dollars for the Hold Land Fund last year. The Renaissance Festive staff really liked having us there and have invited us back. We are looking at making this an annual event. Please mark your calendars
for September 9 and 10. It is wine, chocolate and roses weekend. Our Grand Commandery Session will be in St. Cloud this year and promises to be a good time. Ladies are invited. The dates are June 22-24th 2017. More information will be available at a later date.
Our Knights Temple Eye Foundation (KTEF)continues to do great work. It was established in 1955 by the Grand Encampment and has raised more than 142 million for research, education and patient care since that time. Over 23 Million has been awarded to researchers working in the fields of ophthalmology and opthalmologic genetics. This is our philanthropy and I would urge each Sir Knight to give whatever is possible to this wonderful program.
In closing I would like all to remember that every Christian Mason should be a Knights Templar. May the peace of the Risen Savior be with each one of you.
Fraternally Yours
David Dumonceaux
